    The "A" in AGPS

This is a 10 min. presentation followed by a 20 min. panel discussion.

"Conventional GPS has difficulty providing reliable positions in poor signal conditions. In addition, when first turned on in these conditions, some non-assisted GPS units may not be able to download the almanac and ephemeris information from the GPS satellites, rendering them unable to function until a clear signal can be received continuously for up to one minute. An A-GPS receiver can address these problems in several ways, using an assistance server." (Source: Wikipedia)

Come listen to Peter Mueller, VP Operations at Rx Networks, about what makes their technology so innovative and competitive. Rx Networks is "The Most Promising Start-Up in BC" according to BCTIA's 2008 Technology Awards

Peter holds a B.A.Sc. Geotechnical Eng. degree. Peter brings 20 years of wireless product management, operations and standards development experience with Ericsson Communications, TML Ventures and Syndesis. Peter held various senior roles, including CTO, COO and Director Mobile Data.

What happened at RIM's BlackBerry Developer Conference (and why should you care)?

Acccording to Tom Krazit from CNET..."Smartphone application development appears to be the next frontier for software developers. Such applications have already been in development for years for operating systems like Symbian and Windows Mobile, but the swell of interest in Apple's iPhone and Google's Android operating systems is generating new demand for third-party software that knows how to play well within the constraints of a phone.

The BlackBerry is the leading smartphone in North America, and is No. 2 on a worldwide basis. RIM just launched the newest version, the BlackBerry Bold."

Isn't that cool that the No. 1 Smartphone in North America is Canadian? Do you want to know what happened at the BlackBerry Developer Conference?

Listen to Brian Roberts, VP Business Development with Wavefront, who was in Santa Clara, California to check out this new conference by RIM. Find out from him about how the wireless industry has changed forever because of iPhone and BlackBerry and why, in his opinion, 700 developers attended the conference.

With more than 16 years experience in the wireless industry Brian Roberts has a long history of accelerating and expanding the sales results of wireless carriers. Prior to joining Wavefront Brian was General Manager, Business Sales at Bell Mobility where he was a key architect behind an accelerated growth strategy in British Columbia.

Prior to Bell, Brian launched and developed the sales distribution network across western Canada as Director of Sales for Fido, a new Canadian wireless carrier. Brian started his wireless career with Rogers Wireless in a variety of roles culminating in his position as Director of Enterprise Sales. In addition to his wireless experience Brian has experience as VP of Sales and Marketing for an internet payment company doing business development in North America, Asia and Europe.
